Quotes

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. - John Burroughs

Merry Christmas! Part 3! The true meaning!

So we have finally reached Christmas, it could'nt have come faster...until next year. I could'nt sleep at all last night. Really, I think I got an hour maybe 2 tops. It was worth it though, it was an amazing day. My grandparents, great grandmother, and sister shannon with her boyfriend. It was a blast! Presents, food, and games! I will blog about that in a few days. Tonight i wanted to talk about what Christmas really means. Do you know? It is Jesus birthday. Our saviors coming to us. On this day a child given by God was born. This year think about what you have, and thank God for all of it. He loves us so much he gave his only son to save us. My other challenge for you this year is yo read the Bible and they story of Christmas, Jesues birth. Why do you think they call it Christ-mas

Christmas Eve!

The day before Christmas, the night where we stay up late finshing presents, decorations, putting cookies out for santa, and making more food. O, and dont forget Christmas Eve church service! This Eve I spent it at church and locked in my room with my new Taylor Swift cd "Speak Now"! (Thanks Paul!!) Christmas isnt just about getting though, it's about giving and being with your family. This year I really though about how much my family loves me and how much I love them, even if we are spread out. This year my gift is love and thankfullness to all my family. I would never be me if it wasnt for you! So before you go to bed waiting for santa, I challenge you this...I challenge you all to tell how much you love somebody, even if you are not with them right now. I know im doing it! Have a merry Christmas Eve filled with love. Thanks for reading! Love, Celestial off my ipod!

Merry Christmas Adam! A 3 part Speical! Part 1

I know it has been awhile, but I have been so busy getting ready for the holidays and for this three part special! From today until Christmas I will be doing a blog everyday. One for Christmas Adam, Christmas Eve, and Christmas! Its just some recipes, pictures, thoughts and facts about my favorite holiday! I hope you enjoy!

One of my favorite movies for Christmas is "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" with Jim Carrey. I watch it every year. It makes me laugh and puts me right in the Christmas mood. Its cute and funny, and also has meaning. It shows Christmas isn't just about presents, but about your family and a person should always be excepted even if they don't fit in. I also love reading the book version by Dr. Seuss. Such a cute book. Another movie I love for Christmas time is "Elf" with will Ferrel. I makes me laugh so hard every year and is the perfect Christmas movie. It's my tradition to watch both movies every Christmas.

Speaking of traditions, another tradition of mine is making snicker-doodles. My favorite cookie! The cinnamon/sugar chewiness is perfect for the holiday season. That's what I did today, made a whole batch of snicker-doodle cooking. In fact, I'm eating one right now. Here is the recipe for the perfect yummy cookie.
3 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Lots of Love and a good attitude to get sticky in!
Grease a cookie sheet. Stir together flour, soda, cream of tartar, and  1/2 teaspoon salt. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add the 2 cups of sugar, and beat till fluffy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beat till well combined. Form dough in 1inch thick balls (the wonderful sticky part); roll in a mixture of the 3 tablespoon sugar and the cinnamon (My favorite part!) Place balls 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet; flatten slightly with the bottom of a drinking glass. Bake in a 375 degree oven about 8 minutes (I made mine a little bigger and went for 10 minutes instead).
My lovely cat didn't help at all.  Maybe that was a good thing.

Anyways...they taste amazing, and they are perfect for a holiday get-together. It's also a wonderful snack for watching movies and reading books.

I love watching Christmas movies, and eating yummy cookies every year. It's one of my favorite things to do! What are you're traditions or anything you like to do or watch during Christmas? I'd love to know! Look for part 2 tomorrow!

A Little Bit of Me

I had no idea how to start this blog. There are so many things I want to write about, but none of them seemed right for my first ever entry in a blog. Congrats to me finally getting this done. I have been putting this off forever. This blog is just little thoughts and ideas of mine that pop into my head and I just have to get them down. Might as well do it in a blog. So, to start of my first entry, I thought it would be nice to tell a little more about myself to those of you who don't know me. So here we go! The first thing I should start out with is my family. There is a lot of them. I have 7 siblings. 4 wonderful older brothers, and 3 darling sister. There is Matthew, Nathan, Rex, and Shane for the boys. Shannon, Cailan, and Megan for the girls. All older than me, but I don't mind. Rex, Shane, Shannon, Cailan, and Megan are all my step siblings. Nathan is my half brother, and Matthew is my full brother. I know its a lot, but I love all of them. I have family all over the place. Tennessee, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Wyoming, Colorado, New York, see all over the place.
Recognize any of these people? I'll give you one hint. Megandandymade.blogspot.com and everydaylovely.blogspot.com Yes those two wonderful girls who do those blogs are my step sisters! Meg and her husband Andy are on the left. Cailan and her husband are on the right. And all my favorite nieces and nephews are squished in the middle. Rex is in the middle and my step mom Sherrel is next to him. All in all, a beautiful family. I have to say Meg and Cailan were the ones who got me started on this blog. I read their blogs quite often and enjoy their's so much I though I would join in all the fun too. Thank you wonderful sisters! Now on to me. I love photography! I think it is amazing. My uncle is a professional photographer, and I have to say he is the one that got me hooked on it. When I was little I didn't think twice about it. Now that I'm older I have looked more at my uncle's work, taken tons of pictures, and have gotten positive feedback. So I am now very interested in photography and I think it is an amazing gift to us people. Another thing I love is cooking. I love love love to cook. Being able to make tasty good looking food, seems like a dream to me. Cooking is in my blood, my dad is an extremely good cook, my other uncle is amazing at it to. So growing up with amazing cooks all around me, how could I not like it! I have made some recipes of my own and have always gotten positive feed back. A cook book is in the making, so don't worry about me losing all the good recipes. I also love acting. I think having the chance to be a different person is so amazing. In acting you can be anybody, and you can escape the real world for a bit. I also love quotes, there is a quote for everything. The last thing about me you should know is, I love God, my family, and my friends. Without those three things you can't have life. They are the most important things to me in the world. So in the future you can expect to see my family, pictures I have taken, quotes that inspire me, recipes that bring joy to life, and just a bunch of useless facts and things I like. My name is Celeste, I hope you enjoy my blog.
