Quotes

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. - John Burroughs

Merry Christmas! Part 3! The true meaning!

So we have finally reached Christmas, it could'nt have come faster...until next year. I could'nt sleep at all last night. Really, I think I got an hour maybe 2 tops. It was worth it though, it was an amazing day. My grandparents, great grandmother, and sister shannon with her boyfriend. It was a blast! Presents, food, and games! I will blog about that in a few days. Tonight i wanted to talk about what Christmas really means. Do you know? It is Jesus birthday. Our saviors coming to us. On this day a child given by God was born. This year think about what you have, and thank God for all of it. He loves us so much he gave his only son to save us. My other challenge for you this year is yo read the Bible and they story of Christmas, Jesues birth. Why do you think they call it Christ-mas

Christmas Eve!

The day before Christmas, the night where we stay up late finshing presents, decorations, putting cookies out for santa, and making more food. O, and dont forget Christmas Eve church service! This Eve I spent it at church and locked in my room with my new Taylor Swift cd "Speak Now"! (Thanks Paul!!) Christmas isnt just about getting though, it's about giving and being with your family. This year I really though about how much my family loves me and how much I love them, even if we are spread out. This year my gift is love and thankfullness to all my family. I would never be me if it wasnt for you! So before you go to bed waiting for santa, I challenge you this...I challenge you all to tell how much you love somebody, even if you are not with them right now. I know im doing it! Have a merry Christmas Eve filled with love. Thanks for reading! Love, Celestial off my ipod!

Merry Christmas Adam! A 3 part Speical! Part 1

I know it has been awhile, but I have been so busy getting ready for the holidays and for this three part special! From today until Christmas I will be doing a blog everyday. One for Christmas Adam, Christmas Eve, and Christmas! Its just some recipes, pictures, thoughts and facts about my favorite holiday! I hope you enjoy!

One of my favorite movies for Christmas is "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" with Jim Carrey. I watch it every year. It makes me laugh and puts me right in the Christmas mood. Its cute and funny, and also has meaning. It shows Christmas isn't just about presents, but about your family and a person should always be excepted even if they don't fit in. I also love reading the book version by Dr. Seuss. Such a cute book. Another movie I love for Christmas time is "Elf" with will Ferrel. I makes me laugh so hard every year and is the perfect Christmas movie. It's my tradition to watch both movies every Christmas.

Speaking of traditions, another tradition of mine is making snicker-doodles. My favorite cookie! The cinnamon/sugar chewiness is perfect for the holiday season. That's what I did today, made a whole batch of snicker-doodle cooking. In fact, I'm eating one right now. Here is the recipe for the perfect yummy cookie.
3 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Lots of Love and a good attitude to get sticky in!
Grease a cookie sheet. Stir together flour, soda, cream of tartar, and  1/2 teaspoon salt. Beat butter for 30 seconds; add the 2 cups of sugar, and beat till fluffy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture, beat till well combined. Form dough in 1inch thick balls (the wonderful sticky part); roll in a mixture of the 3 tablespoon sugar and the cinnamon (My favorite part!) Place balls 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet; flatten slightly with the bottom of a drinking glass. Bake in a 375 degree oven about 8 minutes (I made mine a little bigger and went for 10 minutes instead).
My lovely cat didn't help at all.  Maybe that was a good thing.

Anyways...they taste amazing, and they are perfect for a holiday get-together. It's also a wonderful snack for watching movies and reading books.

I love watching Christmas movies, and eating yummy cookies every year. It's one of my favorite things to do! What are you're traditions or anything you like to do or watch during Christmas? I'd love to know! Look for part 2 tomorrow!
